Thanksgiving Food Box Project feeds the hungry November 24, 2009 SCN feeds 100 families a Thanksgiving Meal

SCN members once again proved they are worth their salt and came through with over 1900 donated food items to assemble a complete Thanksgiving Day Dinner. Even though the economic times are tough, SCN members volunteered to bring in either 10 or 20 specific food items that were then bagged and delivered to three agencies that will distribute them to local families. Trcia Nering of Heart for Humanity, Major LaSalle from the Salvation Army, and Union County Services were the recipients of the food to help needy families have a Thanksgiving meal. The food was delivered to these agencies on Monday, November 23. Key SCN officers worked over the weekend and behind the scenes to insure that enough food would be collected to fill our 100 meal quota. Way to go, SCNers!!!
