January 22, 2010
School-Wide Fundraiser Set for February 26 |
| |
Clubs throughout the school are pooling their resources and coming together to raise much needed funds for the earthquake victims in Haiti. A telethon will be conducted on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the high school from 6pm till 10pm. The event has a lot in store with a wide variety of entertainment.
So far, the following clubs have decided to participate: Step Squad, Dance Team, Irish Dancers, Cheerleaders and several local bands. A faculty-student volleyball game is also planned. Quest speakers from several organizations will present an update on progress being made in Haiti and project what stil needs to be done.
The Food Court will feature both catered and home-made dishes and a Tricky Tray will be conducted with the wares of local merchants and corporations.
Of course, throughout the night, the Spiffy High community will be asked to call in and ledge donations to help in the efforts. This year, the telethon will also feature "The Jail." A variety of local community members (including some of our own staff!!) will be placed in a "Jail" and will have to earn their freedom by obtaining a pre-set anount of donations by calling their friends, relatives and associates asking them to pledge monies to the cause.
Mark your calendars and don't miss it!! Not only will it be a really fun night, but all the proceeds will be donated to teh American Red Cross and their continued efforts to help the ravaged people of Haiti. |
